“Mike Hanlon in It: Problematic Choices and the Business of Adaptation” Academic presentation

I’ve been a fan of Stephen King since I first read It in the sixth grade. As many readers, I love the pure skin-crawling nastiness that is Pennywise, but the bonds between the members of the Losers’ Club is perhaps even more affecting. When the 2017 remake arrived, I was hoping for a balance of these two elements, but as to the latter, I found a few areas lacking. To address this, especially the treatment of Mike Hanlon, I created this presentation. Once the sequel arrives, it will be fleshed out into paper form.
